Sanyo technology

SANYO technology is called HIT® technology. HIT® (Heterojunction with Intrinsic Thin-layer) hybrid solar cells are created by combining amorphous silicon and crystalline silicon and using an intrinsic semiconductor.

HIT = More Power. More Power per square meter.

SANYO's HIT® 235 watt solar panel (HITN235SE10) features a solar efficiency rating as high as 18.6% while other conventional panels average a rating of 13—14%. HIT®'s average 26% higher module efficiency (than other conventional panels) adds up to more power and greater cost savings.

This high efficiency is based on two new technology enhancements:

1. New tab design - The current panel (HIP-210NKHE6) has connected cells with two tabs whereas the new panel (HIT-N235SE10) uses three (3) tabs, which reduces the electrical losses in the cell fingers. In addition to this, through designing new thinner tabs, the effective area is enlarged to capture more sunlight and realize an improvement in efficiency.

2. Anti-reflection coated glass – The new panel (HIT-N235SE10) uses anti-reflection coated glass, which reduces losses of reflection and scattering of sunlight. Due to this improvement, more sunlight arrives to the cells and improves the efficiency. This effect is especially noticeable in the morning and evening, when the sun is at a low position; therefore, increased specific yield can be achieved.

HIT = Low Temperature Coefficient. More power in hotter temperatures.

You might be surprised that the higher the temperature, the less electricity a solar panel can produce. HIT® panels feature a better temperature performance than conventional panels which enables them to produce more energy in hotter temperatures.

HIT® solar panels have a guaranteed 100% power tolerance. You can be sure SANYO HIT® panels perform at their rated power at the time of purchase. Every HIT® panel is tested by SANYO before shipment to ensure it performs to the rated output.

HIT® panels are 20% smaller than other conventional solar panels. This smaller footprint means HIT® panels require less roof space.

HIT = Lightweight.

HIT® solar panels feature an innovative lightweight design (15kg), reducing the load bearing to the roof.

HIT = Aesthetic design.

Not only do HIT® panels perform well, we believe they're also the best looking. Their thin, attractive design is enhanced by the fact they sit lower on the roof than conventional models. Small and thin, with a subtle black frame, HIT® panels are a sleek, stylish addition to any home.
